3rd Day in Gold Coast

Sorry for let you wait so long for the 3rd day of my trip. 3rd day is the most fruitful day of my trip. I'll let the pictures say the word.

Morning we away from the hustle and bustle of gold coast city and went to a farm called Paradise Country. This farm is commercialize, all activities and shows, even lunch set is included in the package.

The entrance of the farm.
Me and wife at the entrance

Very weird and beautiful flower.
The first animal we see in the farm - pig.

Then the most famous - koala bear! Can hug them and take picture for a fee of AUS 15.

There are lot of baby koala bear waiting for you to take picture with. They really don't like to move.
Then is the time for kangaroo. Get close and personal with them.
Feed the baby kangaroo.

This is the most active koala bear in the farm. Keep running around his house.
This emu bird only can found in Australia. And I forgot to get their real picture. Emo...
After seeing the animals, it's time for some shows. 1st show is basically demonstration of how to make traditional tea of Australia.

This handsome and funny guy is the presenter.
Having tea and cake. Group of China people we encounter there.
Have a very short brief about horse riding. But no chance to have a try here.

What is this called? A sheep?

Clever dog help to get all sheep into fold.

Sheep shearing in action.
Sheep with weird horn.

Three brothers.

Lunch time! Western style again...
After the farm, it's time to get serious. We need to use all our money to shopping finally! We went to a place called Harbour Town. I thought it was a seaside place to witness fisherman life, but it was totally wrong! It was a wholesale centre I suppose. Lot of fashion shop and restaurant there, and a big cinema also. Found very cheap shirt sold there, only AUS 10 for 3 pieces. Haha, finally found things that is cheaper in Malaysia!!

Almost 100+ retails shop in Harbour Town.

Finally we have some time to walk along the seaside. That day is in good weather. We can see lot people swimming and surfing.

There are limitation where to swim.

Nice sand castle... Duno who did this.
Like this picture very much. Have bit fish eye effect.
Last picture to take before battery worn-out.

'Fat-tery'

Last two days, it was heavy rain after work. Driving for a while, found that my handphone was almost out of battery. So quickly took out the car charger hope can give some life to handphone.

After 15 minute, sms alert, and I pick up my phone. I was surprise that my phone was gaining weight. The phone's back cover bend by the swell battery. I was very afraid the phone will explode, and unplug it from the car charger. The battery become 'fat-tery'. If I didn't notice about it, can't imagine what may happen.

Can you see the different? Right one is the 'fat-tery'!

I may not a big different, but scary enough

Frankly speaking, I'm using non-original car charger. I think that is the problem. Last time I use non-original car charger for my Ipod also. And the Ipod battery also spoil. Very scare to use non-original charger now.

Going to buy a new battery on the spot, and take a look at new phone too. Long time didn't update myself about phone technology, lot of new things I didn't know. Should I get a new phone?

My Collection

I like to read book. And I like to collect books as well. But I not understand why books are so expensive, even though government encourage citizen to read more. They should give more allowance to people that buy books mah. Tax exemptions is not enough la!!

My reading habit started before I was in school. I like to read my brother biology text book that time. I can't understand all, but the picture and figure attracted me. During primary school, besides comic, Wesley's series  (卫斯理) is my favourite. It have around 150 books in total and I read them all. Just the recent few publishes are not my cup of tea. May be the author (倪匡) style change after he migrant to US. I have all his series in pdf form. (Too many of his publish le, can't afford to buy them all).

Some western and eastern classic collection.
For local author, I like 欧阳林 novel. It's just some funny stories of a general doctor works in Taiwan. But I didn't see any recent publish by him.

My 欧阳林 collection
Detective story is my favourite now. Have all Sherlock Holmes series. And I think of buying all Agatha Christie in future. Ya, not forget about 赤川次郎,my favourite Japan detective story author. His humor style of writing catch my heart. I like he use cat as main character in his story! But his book is quite difficult to find in book store now.

Agatha Christie + other detective novel
Sherlock Holmes + 赤川次郎 + games books

Normally I prefer read in Chinese. For me, it's faster and easier to understand. But I read also English novel. The whole Harry Potter series I read in English, and kite runner recommended by my friend. Next target, Lord of the Ring trilogy.

This some books for self-improvement
My 1st Japanese book. Very cheap compare to Chinese or English book. Only RM6!! (Haha, haven't start read yet)
Just bought it last week. Fully color with hard cover. RM 30 only!
Reading can really improve our knowledge. But it is sad that less and less people prefer reading now.

Japanese Class

I know I know... It quite a long gap since my last post...

But I not in good shape after I have durian with my wife. (What one good reason!) OK. Then before I rest, I do a short one today.

Last Thursday night, it's my Japanese Language class again. For my surprise, our sensei, Mr. Sakiyama-san, bought us Swensen's ice cream for each of us. That day was my classmate birthday. This teacher is very good. And he is funny too. That's one of the reasons we keep in this class.

Sensei also promise us he will find a date to invite us to visit his house, and he will serve us Japan food, show us his cute dog and wife. We all can't wait for it.

Some friends ask me, why I want to learn Japan. Actually, if I didn't learn language, I will get an euphonium coach by the way. Just feel like to learn something to improve myself. Learning language especially Japan may help in my career.

2nd Day in Gold Coast

Wake up around 7am. Sky already so bright like 9am in Malaysia. Having hotel breakfast. I thought may have nasi lemak but nope. Lucky still got fried rice. Our 1st theme park visit is Sea World.

Sea World Entrance
It's rainy day. Actually I very scare if there is heavy rain, then the shows is cancelled and the roller coaster is closed. Once get into the Sea World, we go to visit my favorite, penguin. They are so cute. Bit fat and the style their walk, haha, I like it!

I think this is the da go in the aquarium.

This 3 penguins always walk around to get attention of the visitor.

They like to pose a lot!

Can see how they swim too.

Put lot of penguin photo cause I really like it. And some more!

After visit the penguin house, we pass by one of the theater. Surprisingly the sea dog show is going to start. We grab our seat, enjoy the show. They present in a dramatic way. By the way, I'm not sure whether it is sea dog, sea lion or seal.

Show is going on...
Look like taking pic wit this statue is a must in Sea World. With the cute rain coat.

After sea dog(?) show, we for another show. It's sesame street show. Basically it's for kid la. But it's bring up my childhood memory watching the tall yellow bird.

Used to watch Sesame Street. Totally can't recall their names.
Before we go for dolphin show, we stop by sting ray pool. Learn some info about sting ray there, and we have chance to touch them. Not as soft as we imagine. Sting ray is quite naughty, they like to play.

Can you see? Sting ray put their side wing for us to touch. Naughty right?
Then, favorite show is on, dolphin show. Wow, can't imagine they can do such thing. Sorry I can't elaborate more here, my English writing is limited. You need to witness your own. Awesome performance!

Wondering how they can jump out the water at the same time?
Look like very suang ah...
All shows in sea world scheduled systematically. You won't miss anyone. After we watched all the show, we went to the aquarium. Amazing view of course!

Don't know why lot of fish surrounding the 2 feet-diameter sting ray.

Deng deng deng deng... big shark swimming by.
Finally it's time to get serious, we take some thrilling ride. And it was too exciting until forgot to take pic of it(^_^;) Basically it is extremely fast and 360 degree ride lo.

Western style lunch again.
Last but not least, before sea world close, got gymnastic-waterdiving-pirate-style-drama near the main entrance. Very funny.

Don't play play. All the performer won champion before.
We cannot tahan western food anymore, so we go for a Chinese style restaurant to cure our homesick. One meat one vege and one fried rice cost around RM 120++ expensive but at least we satisfy our stomach. Taste great!

End of 2nd day. Coming up... Our most happiest day during Australia trip...
